What are Bio-Identical Hormones?

There are several important hormones you may receive while an Anti-Aging & Vitality Center client. These are bio-identical. Those are essentially molecule for molecule identical to your own hormones. These hormones cannot be purchased from a regular pharmacy or produced by a pharmaceutical company because they cannot be patented. Most of them are compounded specifically for each individual patient in a special pharmacy and only on the prescription of a medical doctor.

Here’s just a little information about each:

• DHEA – The most abundant hormone in the human body and with many roles. It is important to make other hormones like testosterone, estrogen, and progesterone. It can boost the immune system and may be beneficial in autoimmune disease. There are many more suspected benefits form DHEA. Can be purchased over the counter, but be sure you know the purity and strength you are buying. It can vary greatly. Ask us.
  
• Estrogen – Estrogen, the female sex hormone, is actually three hormones. It is produced in the ovaries up until menopause. Low levels of estrogen have been linked to osteoporosis, arteriosclerosis, and declining cognitive functions. Estrogen’s anti-aging benefits includes stronger bones, decreased heart attacks and strokes; improved memory thicker skin and improved mucous membranes, and increased lifespan.
  
• HGH - Human Growth Hormone (HGH) causes growth and repair of muscles, skin, kidneys and more. HGH levels naturally rise sharply throughout puberty, peak at about age 20, and then slowly decrease. HGH’s anti-aging benefits are believed to be increased vitality and energy, reduced fat, increased muscle mass, thickening of your skin, improved sleep, enhanced bone growth and maintenance and increased lifespan.
  
• T3 or T4 – Active thyroid hormones for energy and increased metabolism.
  
• Testosterone – the male sex hormone is found in men and women. A sharp testosterone decline is serious. It is associated with impotency and libido problems. Anti-aging benefits from testosterone therapy may include increased libido and sexual potency; improved erections; improved mood and feelings of well-being; decreased fatigue; more red blood cells; reduced cholesterol and stronger bones.
  
• Melatonin – Melatonin is a hormone that plays a major role in setting the body’s internal clock. Melatonin’s anti-aging benefits may include improved sleep, a stronger immune system, more positive response to stress and enhanced well being.
  
• Pregnenolone - Pregnenolone is used by your body to produce DHEA, progesterone, testosterone, and estrogen. Proper levels of Pregnenolone are important to cognitive ability. Anti-aging benefits may include reduction of stress and arthritic inflammation, maintenance of memory, improved mood, well-being and improved sleep patterns.
